Ultrasound in pregnancy is used for medical evaluation, fetal growth assessment, fetal anatomy assessment, high-risk pregnancy monitoring, fetal echocardiography, Doppler studies, genetic counseling support and other medically indicated purposes.

Our Commitment

The clinic strictly follows the provisions of the Pre-Conception and Pre-Natal Diagnostic Techniques Act, commonly known as the PCPNDT Act.

Fetal sex determination, fetal sex disclosure, sex selection, or any related communication is illegal and is not performed at Mayflower Fetal Medicine & High-Risk Pregnancy Centre.

• The clinic does not provide, suggest, hint, record or communicate fetal sex information.
• Ultrasound is performed only for lawful medical reasons.
• All patients and relatives are expected to cooperate with legal and ethical requirements.

Purpose of Pregnancy Ultrasound

Pregnancy ultrasound may help assess fetal wellbeing, pregnancy dating, fetal anatomy, placental location, amniotic fluid, fetal growth, Doppler blood flow, twin pregnancy concerns, fetal heart assessment and high-risk pregnancy conditions.

The exact purpose of the scan depends on the clinical indication, pregnancy stage, medical history and the referring doctor’s advice.
